If your scan, photograph or image looks to dark or you think it looks to light you may want to adjust the brightness and contrast. It is a good idea to adjust your image before you start editing.
This is done by selecting:
Image>Adjustments>Brightness and Contrast
You can then adjust your image by sliding the bars.
